Dead-heading

When you cut off the heads

Of dead flowers 

It’s called dead-heading.

So the plant

Can focus

On giving its energy

To the flowers that aren’t dying

And the buds.

What dead heads

Should I trim away?

And what buds

Should I focus

On growing?
