7 things: Mendocino and this week

Things I’ve done and things I’ve learned:

This place (Frankie's in Mendocino) also has candy cap mushroom ice cream but I went for the ginger.

1. I spent $12 on three chocolates to meet the credit card minimum. Apparently some places still exist in the cash economy. I also got ice cream.

2. I saw a man collapse and seize from hitting his dab pen too hard (he insisted he was okay).

We were outside of this visitor's center in the fog

3. I think I have actually gotten more patient! Watering the trees is a counting meditation like what I did with Matsuyama Sensei in Japan. Present = pleasant!

4. I may or may not becoming a nudist. Listen, there’s nothing like cold water and then the sun on your whole body.

"But what if your nudes get hacked and end up on the internet???"

5. I went to the Comptche Art Fair! A community event where I could tell people were side-eyeing me because they’d never seen me before. But many talented artists out here including ones that make big bronze spider statues and realistic felted dolls.

6. I harvested lots of tomatoes!! And some zucchini, peppers, and lemon cucumber. Mm, mm, mm. If you’re like me and thought you didn’t like tomatoes until age 17 you probably just aren’t eating the right ones.

7. Sometimes you end up with crickets in your tent and that’s okay. They like my little tent lamp and I like my little tent lamp so that’s something we have in common.

“Seeking means having a goal, but finding means being open, free, having no goal.” - Hermann Hesse, but he said it in German so he probably didn’t actually say that
